War savings streets (1970)
During the Second World War households of entire streets in suburban Melbourne were encouraged to contribute to a national war savings campaign. The streets with high contributions were marked with plaques stating ‘This is a War Savings Street’. Cover image is from photograph by Peter Jeffs.
